Violin ~ Chamber Music

Ms. Alla Aranovskaya started to play piano when she was two and a half years old , and violin at the age of six. Ms. Aranovskaya graduated the Rimsky-Korsakov Music College in 1977. In 1985 she graduated the St. Petersburg Conservatory, receiving a Master's degree and Artist Diploma in 1988. She was a winner of the All-Russia Solo Violin Competition in 1985.

Ms. Aranovskaya 38 years of teaching experience includes:
  • Ass.Professor at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory, St. Petersburg, Russia (1988-2001)
  • Faculty and artist in residence at Oberlin Conservatory (1997-2003)
  • Assistant Professor of violin at Wichita State University (2010 – 2015)

Her master classes and workshops were attended by more than 2000 students and teachers all over the world.

Since 1985 Ms. Aranovskaya has served as founding first violinist of the St. Petersburg String Quartet ( Under her leadership, the quartet has unquestionably became one of the world's great string quartets.

Her many honors include a Grammy nomination, "Best Record" honors in both Stereo Review and Gramophone magazines, First Prize and the "Grand Prix Musica Viva" at the 1991 Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition, the Silver Medal and a Special Prize at the Tokyo International Chamber Music Competition, First Prize and both Special Prizes at the Vittorio Gui International Competition for Chamber Ensembles in Florence, Italy, and first Prize at the All-Soviet Union String Quartet Competition.

Ms. Aranovskaya was a jury member of several major competitions including the 2003 Melbourne, Australia International Chamber Music Competition, Leopold Auer International Violin and String Quartet Competition. 2014-2016

Ms. Aranovskaya's students have won numerous prizes at National and International competitions.
