Born and raised in Vladivostok, Russia. In 1968 graduated with Honors from Vladivostok's Special Music Academy, and then from St. Petersburg Conservatory, where he greaduated from in 1973, having an Concert pianist Diploma, and Piano Professor, DMA. 1973-1979 Professor Ignatov taught at the Vladivostok's Insitute of the Arts as well as Vladivostok's conservatory, preparing many great students - competition winners.

Since 1979 Vladimir Ignatov moved to Tallinn with his wife and daughter, where he lives until now.

Since moving to Estonia a rich international career has emerged: Estonia, Russia, Germany, Sweden, Finland, and Poland were just a short list of countries where Vladimir Ignatov performed.

To support the national Russian heritage in 1992, Vladimir Ignatov formed the Russian Philharmonic Society, nowadays a full-fledged concert organization, which features great musicians from Estonia, Russia, Scnadinavia and beyond.

Solo recitals in Leipzig, hosted and promoted by Bluethner Pianos (Leipzig, Germany)

Vladimir Ignatov's Repertoire ranges from the great classics: J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart, J. haydn, L. von Beethoven, to the great Romantics: R. Schumann, F.Chopin, F.Liszt, F. Schubert, E. Grieg, and C. Debussy.

Ignatov is a big proponent of the Russian Music. His vast repertoire includes works by: M.Glinka, M.Balakirev, A.Borodin, P.Tchaikovsky, M. Musorgsky, A.Scriabin, S.Rachmaninov, S.Prokofiev, N.Medtner, and R.Schedrin.

As a composer, Vladimir Ignatov has written more than 10 Children Operas, two collections of piano pieces for children, music for theatrical plays, as well as numerous chamber and vocal works.
